I can resist that sweet set of Ziricote that Brad has in the woodshed. My eyes say yes my wallet says no! ![]() |

Lance...just a suggestion. I think you should put a link to the Woodshed at the top of the page with the other links. Darn I want to see that piece of wood and now I have to go back to the beginning. ![]() |

Do it! There's enough extra there for a PH overlay, and the wood is wild enough that it won't need a center seam inlay. Plus it's undeniably beautiful. Early Christmas for you. That is, from your wife! Steve |

I hear ya buddy and I feel your pain (in the wallet that is). It's a dang good thing that piece of Brazilian says sold, not that I could afford it anyway but it sure is pretty. I'm definately in the red this year though ![]() |

Or am I missing the joke (... happens a lot). ![]() |

I think what Jeff means is the link to the woodshed is only availiable on the forum main page and when your in the active topics view, its not there. But if there were a link in the links section, it would be ![]() |

Ok.. that makes sense... I don't use the Active Topics button much... I will think on the solution to this. |

Lance don't forget to Budget for $30 worth of CA. |

I usually don't need more than $7 worth of CA. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Seriously though, I find that the darker lines in ziricote are the ones where cracken usually happens. The more the run is swirls like that set, the better. It's when they run long and straight where you have worse cracking problems. |

That's what I was referring to Lance. The link is only available on the home page. Maybe that's all you need but, when you starting talking about the ziricote set it made me start looking for it. The only solution was to go to the home page. ![]() |

I just don't "think" in the Active Topics mode. I rarely ever use that function. However, I know some of you like that a lot. Maybe I can figure out a way to get that one page to display the same as the main topic pages. I will have to play with it. |

Brock, Please do. The Active Topics page is the only one I frequent. Lance put me up to it months ago. I bet others do the same, and I also bet they feel a bit discriminated against! ![]() Steve |

Your telling me Lance! I have been a good boy and have been staying away from Colonials and Bobs sites lately. Always get in trouble when I look. I actually just listed a few sets on eBay since I have way too much as it is. Proceeds go to the Hot Rod fund ![]() |

Lance, The bad news(or good news, depending how you look at it) is that I sold that set yesterday.so you can mark it sold. The good news(or bad news, depending how you look at it) is that I have the almost identical "sister" set still available-I will send Brock a new picture to post to make it official. Also don't forget about the Big Kahuna discount. I am also willing to hold sets for OLF'rs.(for a reasonable amount of time) I agree with Don about the swirl grain being less prone to cracking (no guarantees, though!!). |

Considering the amount of time and energy Lance has put into this forum-the least I can do is give him a good deal on some wood-if he wants it. |

Hey Lance, Can you post what you come up with for your setup- I'm in a similar mode. I play acoustic and electric, but want to use my new acoustic guitar. I put K & K p/ups in for the Rita Springer Concert. I couldn't monopolize the sound system very long before rehearsal, so the soundman was tweeking the eq, & "Woof" feedback out of it during a live rehearsal just before the concert. Increasingly nervous, I just reverted back to my Taylor. (I HOPE I can use the K & K's on stage....) My Yamaha fx-500 is about 13 yrs old, currently we use in ear monitors on stage, and volume on stage is about 80-90 dB Let me know what you find out. I will post what we work out with the K & K's when I can monoplolize the sound board. (with an overdue baby, it may not be very soon....) TIA |
